I'm Zain ul Abideen, FCCA, a practising fractional CFO and co-founder of CompassPoint Consulting. Over a decade in finance, and more than a thousand hours of the last two years using Claude AI on real client work: models, forecasts, board packs, month-ends.

If you think AI will not change finance, you are mistaken. When the colleague beside you does the same work faster and better because they use AI well, you become the more expensive way to do the same work.

So invest the time now, even if you never buy this course. Most finance people are ignoring AI or using it badly, pasting in a prompt and hoping it is right, sometimes risking confidential data without realising.

1Session 1Claude AI foundations: the must-know concepts for finance professionals▾

What Claude actually is, which version and plan are right for you, and the discipline that gets safe, reliable results.

2Session 2Becoming a financial modelling expert with Claude AI▾

Hands-on. You build a full set of financials with me, live. The point is the technique, which transfers to anything you build with numbers.

  • Build a full three-statement model from raw data, not a clean template
  • Create a budget and a P&L forecast using my prompts
  • Prove it: make the numbers reconcile and control hallucination
Outcome: You can build even complex models using the techniques I show you.
3Session 3Management reporting with Claude AI▾

Turn the model into the report. You produce a polished, board-standard reporting pack, live, with charts and commentary.

  • Build a management reporting pack from the model, live

4Session 4Daily finance workflows: Claude in Excel, skills and connectors▾

The power-user session. How to fold Claude into your day so it makes you faster every week.

  • Claude in Excel: find mistakes, update a model after month-end, and the essentials of working inside Excel
  • Build a finance skill with me, and use skills in your own workflow
  • Connectors: pull data from where it already lives
  • Live Q&A: take the mic and ask your question directly
Outcome: You can use Claude in Excel, build your own skills, train Claude to write in your voice, and get your questions answered.

Frequently asked questions
I have never used Claude. Can I still join?▾
Absolutely. Session 1 covers the foundations from the ground up, so you need no prior experience with Claude or AI. As long as you know your finance, you are ready.
Do I need to be an Excel expert?▾
No. The course is built so Claude does the heavy lifting. You need to know your finance, not advanced spreadsheet mechanics.
Can I use my personal Claude subscription?▾
Yes. We provide all the data you will work on, so it is completely safe to use a personal Claude subscription.
Which Claude subscription do I need?▾
A paid Claude plan. When we last checked, the entry-level paid plan was around USD 20 per month, but pricing changes, so please check the current pricing on the Claude AI website. The document you receive when you enrol confirms exactly what to set up.
What if I miss a session?▾
Every session is recorded and shared within 24 hours. Where another intake runs in parallel, we will also try to slot you into the same session in that group.
Are the sessions recorded?▾
Yes. You can rewatch every session for 90 days. Recordings are for the registered participant only, not for download or sharing.
Can I get a refund if I cannot attend?▾
If you request a refund at least 24 hours before your intake starts, we refund you less a small bank transfer fee. After that we cannot refund, but we will try to move you to another intake or share the recordings and materials.
Can my company pay for the course?▾
Yes. Most participants claim it back from their employer, or your company can pay directly using the same sign-up form and payment link.
Do you provide corporate training for Claude in finance?▾
Yes. We train finance teams on Claude and help with implementation beyond finance too. Reach out at info@compasspoint-consulting.com.
What happens if Claude goes down during a live session?▾
It has not happened yet. If it ever did, we would simply reschedule the session.
Do I get a CPD certificate?▾
Yes. Once you complete all four sessions, live or by recording, you receive a certificate of completion for 8 CPD hours to record with your professional body.
