Why I built this

Why I built this course for finance professionals

I'm Zain ul Abideen, FCCA, a practising fractional CFO and co-founder of CompassPoint Consulting. Over a decade in finance, and more than a thousand hours of the last two years using Claude AI on real client work: models, forecasts, board packs, month-ends.

If you think AI will not change finance, you are mistaken. When the colleague beside you does the same work faster and better because they use AI well, you become the more expensive way to do the same work.

So invest the time now, even if you never buy this course. Most finance people are ignoring AI or using it badly, pasting in a prompt and hoping it is right, sometimes risking confidential data without realising.

How it works

Four sessions, on a schedule that suits you

Take all four for the full programme, or pick only the sessions you need. You choose a date for each session when you enrol.

Four sessions, one a week

Each group works through the four sessions live, one week apart, two hours each. Small enough that you can ask your own questions.

A new group every two weeks

Thursday and Friday groups run alternately, so there is always a start date coming up rather than a long wait.

All four, or just the ones you need

Single sessions are $200 each, and you pick a date for each one. All four costs $649, saves you $151, and makes you a Full Member, which adds the Playbook and a monthly Q&A call with me.

Cannot make a date?

Tell us and we will move you into the same session in a later group, at no extra cost.

Frequently asked questions

I have never used Claude. Can I still join?▾

Absolutely. Session 1 covers the foundations from the ground up, so you need no prior experience with Claude or AI. As long as you know your finance, you are ready.

Do I need to be an Excel expert?▾

No. The course is built so Claude does the heavy lifting. You need to know your finance, not advanced spreadsheet mechanics.

Can I use my personal Claude subscription?▾

Yes. We provide all the data you will work on, so it is completely safe to use a personal Claude subscription.

Which Claude subscription do I need?▾

A paid Claude plan. When we last checked, the entry-level paid plan was around USD 20 per month, but pricing changes, so please check the current pricing on the Claude AI website. The document you receive when you enrol confirms exactly what to set up.

What if I miss a session?▾

Every session is recorded and shared within 24 hours. Because a new group starts every two weeks, we can also move you into the same session in a later group at no extra cost. Just tell us.

Are the sessions recorded?▾

Yes. You can rewatch for 90 days the sessions you have bought. Recordings are for the registered participant only, not for download or sharing.

Can I get a refund if I cannot attend?▾

If you request a refund at least 24 hours before your first booked session, we refund you less a small bank transfer fee. This applies to single sessions on the same basis as all four. After that we cannot refund, but we will move you into the same session in a later group, or share the recordings and materials.

Can my company pay for the course?▾

Yes. Most participants claim it back from their employer, or your company can pay directly using the same sign-up form and payment link.

Do you provide corporate training for Claude in finance?▾

Yes. We train finance teams on Claude and help with implementation beyond finance too. Reach out at info@compasspoint-consulting.com.

What happens if Claude goes down during a live session?▾

It has not happened yet. If it ever did, we would simply reschedule the session.

What is Full Membership?▾

Full Membership simply means you have taken all four sessions, which is $649 rather than $800 bought singly. Alongside the sessions themselves you get a certificate of completion for the full 8 CPD hours, my Claude Finance Playbook compiled from all four handouts, and a standing invitation to a monthly one-hour group Q&A call with me, ordinarily the last Wednesday of the month. That call is for Full Members only, and it stays open to you after the course finishes.

Can I buy just one or two sessions?▾

Yes. Each session is $200 on its own, or take all four for $649 and save $151. You choose a date for each session you buy, and you can spread them across different groups if that suits you. If you skip an earlier session, we send you the completed working files from it, so you start from exactly the same point as everyone else in the room. If you have never used Claude, we recommend starting with Session 1, which sets up the way of working the other sessions build on.

Do I get a CPD certificate?▾

Yes, for whatever you attend. Each session is two hours, so a single session earns 2 CPD hours and all four earn 8. Complete all four, live or by recording, and you receive a certificate of completion for 8 CPD hours, issued together with my Claude Finance Playbook (PDF). Take fewer and you receive a certificate of attendance for the hours you did. Either way it is yours to record with your professional body.
